Condie - South Wales, UK

I'm researching the Condie branch of my family tree and my search so far has been fruitless - the information I have is from an elderly relative.

My Great Grandmother Helena Marah Condie was born in Newport, South Wales (about 1880). She had several siblings - Celia, Harry (Hal), Lottie Grace (Married Dennis Allen) and Margery (married Robert Howe). Her father was called Morwood John Condie. The family were living in Cardiff in 1900, however I have been unable to find them on the 1881 and 1901 census, and I also haven't found any births, marriage or death records.

I've found it interesting to read about the possible French connection with Condie - it's been passed down through generations of my family that the name Condie originated in France, and we have a rosary that was (so the story goes) brought over from France many generations ago. However, I have not researched far back enough yet to see if there is any truth in the story.

If anyone has any information that would be of use to me, please share it :) - Thank you
