Sylvia,
Just found your message and thought I would let you know a little about John Conder.son of Lewis Sr.. John is buried in Coweta Co. Ga. in a family cemetery on his homestead. His first wife Emily Houston and an unnamed child are also there. John's second wife was Electa Ann Smart b. Oct 11 1849 . She was daughter of Elisha B. and Tabitha Steed Smart of Campbell Co. Ga. Electa is buried at New Hope Meth. Church Campbell Co. ( now Fulton Co.). John died of smallpox which he is said to have been exposed to while taking supplies to the soldiers in Atlanta. Since smallpox was such a dreaded disease everyone was reluctant to go near.Sion Steed a Meth Preacher and uncle of his second wife helped out and he and John's son Sion Payne Conder helped dig the grave. I thought you might be interested in this story. Charleen Steed Fairburn Ga.
