Vince,
I have tried again to access your e-mail and I only get "Web not responding".My Mom and I are sitting here reviewing the info you have posted re: Conboy, Burst, Brogan, etc.
The Brogan name was actually the Gaelic spelling, Broughan. The Broughan gravesite is in Westminster Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, PA.Catherine and Patrick are buried there, along with others.
Thomas and Patrick Broughan were brothers born in Athy, County Kildare, Ireland. As you know, Patrick married Catherine Burst. The children of this union were (not in birth order), Jane, Sarah, Martin,Patrick, Jack, Mary, Catherine and Veronica.Jane married Albert Rogers, and my grandmother, Veronica married William Conboy in a double ceremony in Elkton, MD in 1917.Their marriages were blessed at Holy Family Church, Manayunk, April 27th 1917.The marriages are recorded one after the other in the matrimonial records, with each couple acting as witness for the other.
From my Mom's recollection of family history and story, Jack died during Prohibition from bad alcohol, Mary died in her late teens or early twenties, and Catherine died from a head injury after being kicked by a horse. My Mom remembers Patrick who was married to Edith, they resided in New Jersey.
Aunt Jane and Uncle Al's children were Albert, Irene, Joseph, Elizabeth and Florence, there may have been others. The only one living, is Florence.
My e-mail address is wittmanfamily@aol.
Hope this info is helpful.
Marianne
