I am not sure there is any connection beyond the name itself, but in my search for some Conaway family members I chanced upon the following:
I found in the Calendar of Sussex County Delaware Probate Records 1680-1800 on page 280 there is a listing of a will of John Connaway. It shows that a will was made March 18, 1784. Heirs: wife Judith Connaway; Sons Levin, Isaac, John and Jacob; Daus. Sarah Beavins, Betty Short, and Mary Willy. Probate February 21, 1797
