Hello Conway/Conaway/Conoway's,
My Conaway's it looks like came from Penn.
in the late 1700's till about 1816 or so
because my gggrandmother{Rachel} was born in Penn about 1814 and the family went to Ontario Canada and her father was John Conaway.
The name Zilphy is connected to this family
because Rachel named her daughter Mary Zilphy
and the name is carried down in a couple of
generations. I know of some Conway's/
Conaway's/Conoway's that that name is in there families and they were in Maryland and
moved to Georgia. I don't know if there is
a connection but that name is very different
and unusual and could mean a connection.
Rachel Conaway was also one of three daughter
to this family. We do not know her mother's
name. She married a John Whitlock at Clarks
Mill in Camden in Addington County in Ontario
about 1833. She died in 1904 in Forest Vilge
in Lambton Co. Ontario. Looking for information on this family of Conaway's.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
