Mr. Erik... I'm happy to say that I am the son of Silas Gerard James Conard. I just recently had the pleasure of reading a letter you wrote in 1968 to my uncle Lloyd. We do pronounce our name "ka-nard" and I am happy to finally talk to someone on my father's side. My father died 6/3/1967 at age 39 from a massive heart attack. Sorry to say that my mother (Irene Meyers Conard) has recently passed away (11-14-2001) and that is what has sparked my interest in this matter. I was going through her paperwork left behind and came across several old letters. I have one younger brother, Ray James Conard. We are both married and have a total of four boys (I have three and Ray has one). I presently live in Prairieville (Near Baton Rouge... just moved 1.5 years ago from the New Orleans area). I would love to find more out about the Conard name and my ancestors..... Please respond further....
