LARRY S. "DUGAN" COMSTOCK, born April 21, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri died Wednesday, August 1, 2001 in Bryan, Texas. He worked in sales for S.C. Johnson Wax for 35 years. He moved with the company from Fairmont, West Virginia managing districts in El Paso, San Antonio, and Houston, Texas. He retired in 1989 and moved to Lago Vista, Texas where he was a very active volunteer in the community. He had served as president of Lago Vista Emergency Services, St. Mary's Catholic Church and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. He received a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He served in the United States Navy for two years prior to college. Dugan's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his wife Rosemary Kahle Comstock; daughter Elizabeth Jane Riley and her husband Dr. Mark Riley of Bryan, Texas; daughter Mary Caroline Hobbs and her husband Greg Hobbs of Raleigh, North Carolina; son Elwyn Charles "Chip" Comstock and his wife Barbara Jean Burns Comstock of McLean, Virginia; daughter Sallie Kahle Alcorn and her husband George Alcorn, Jr. of Houston, Texas; and thirteen grandchildren, Sean, Tim, and Kathleen Riley; Charlie, Rosemary and Teddy Hobbs; Danny, Peter, and Caity Comstock; and George, Maria, Janie, and Susie Alcorn. He is also survived by his sister Jody Veader and her husband Jack Veader of Ocean Pines, Maryland; sister MollY Hye and her husband Tom Hye of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; brother-in-law Melvin Kahle and his wife Carol Kahle of Wheeling, West Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a rosary at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Friday, August 3 at 7:00 P.M. A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, August 4 at 11:00 A.M. Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6100 Lohman Ford Road, Lago Vista, Texas 78645. Local arrangements will be handled by Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, Texas.
