Searching for lineage for Thomas J. Comstock, b. 1805, who was in Jasper County, IN, in 1850 and 1860. 1850 census lists his place of birth as Connecticut, 1860 says New York. Wife's name was Lucy, b. @1806 in New York. 1870 census lists them in Decatur County, IA, where Thomas' place of birth is listed as Massachusetts. Thomas apparently died in 1877 in Wayne County, IA.
Children living with him in 1850 were:
Jeremiah, age 20, b. Ohio
Hiram J., age 18, b. Ohio
Cornelius, age 15, b. Ohio
Jane (Nancy Jane), age 13, b. Ohio
Martin, age 11, b. Ohio
John, age 9, b. Ohio
Mary Ann, age 6, b. Ohio
Ameline(Emeline), age 3, b. Indiana
Carlos W., age 1, b. Indiana.
Suspect Thomas and Lucy to be the parents of my gr-great grandmother, Elizabeth F. Comstock Hoard, b. July 1, 1826, in Ohio; d. February 16, 1895, Jasper County, Indiana.
