Angela, I don't know if you have found the information you were seeking but will tell you what I have.
James Olyum Comstock was son of:
CUMBERLAND COMSTOCK & Martha Jane Campbell
married 1868 near Ft. Smith, AR
Children: Willie, James, Bettie, Benjamin
F., Joseph and Fruzie.
Cumberland was a Native American
Interpretur for Union Army in Civil War.
They moved from Arkansas to Keystone,
OK in 1892. He died in 1907 in Quay Co.,
NM.

Cumberland Comstock was son of:
THOMAS I. COMSTOCK born about 1840 in
Missouri. Married Lucinda Gibbins in 1832
in Clark Co., AR, and Patsy Woods in Hot
Springs, in 1838.

Martha Jane Campbell was born in 1850 in
Arkansas. Father was William Campbell
born in Kentucky; Mother was Malinda
Smith born 1818 in Illinois. Martha
Jane died in 1931 in Pawnee Co., OK.
Martha Jane Campbell was Cherokee Indian
and I believe Cumberland was too. I am
trying to trace this. Do you have any
records that show James Olyum Comstock
was Cherokee?

Fruzie married a man named Cook and lived
in Keystone, OK.
Bettie married a man named Tweedy and lived
in Santa Ana, CA and died in 1960.
Willie married a man named Huffman and lived in Escondidto, CA.

James Olyum Comstock was a brother of my
grandfather Benjamin Franklin Comstock, Sr.,
born in 1877 in Ft. Smith, AR and died in
1955 in Keystone, OK.
My father was Benjamin Franklin Comstock, Jr.
Maybe this will help in your search. Sorry, it is so late. Just got a computer and found
this site. Thanks, Lee (Comstock) Crosby.
