Hi: You have apparently misread Comstock's in America. It says William was married twice, first wife unknown, second wife Elizabeth Daniel, mother of children unknown. Exact quotes are: "In 1659 it is recorded that "with consent of my now wife Elizabeth" he sold property in New London. This probably indicates that Elizabeth was a second wife." "Family 1 WILLIAM1 COMSTOCK, born in England about 1595; believed to have died about 1683; married (2nd) Elizabeth Daniel(*), b. 1608; d. after 1665." Then, the book gives an **unauthoritative ** source for the name Elizabeth Daniel: (*)In "History of The National Society of CONCLUSION: In 1949, when Comstocks in America was written, all that was known that William was married, a second time, to a lady named Elizabeth. A non-authoritative source has suggested her surname might be Daniel. There is/was NO indication of which wife is the mom of the kids. If you know of a more current workup on the wives and which wife is the mom, would sure appreciate hearing about it, but it did NOT come from Comstocks in America, 1949 edition.
