Comstock, Early settlers in Jackson Michigan

I have recently found that Rhoda A. Comstock is a grand mother of mine. She was born Oct 6 1834 in Washtenaw County Michigan and married Oct 12, 1851 to Oren Vance Hammond. Her father was John S. Comstock one of the first settlers of Jackson County Michigan.

Does anyone have further information on John S. Comstock?
