My ggg grandfather VanRensselaer Comstock was born in VT in May 1802 ( I got this from his death certificate). I am looking for his mother's surname.
From the Adams book:
Solomon (Israel 6, Daniel 5, Daniel 4, Samuel 3, Samuel 2, William 1) COMSTOCK
married Elizabeth have no idea where or when RI, NY ? and separated from her after having four children.
3199 VanRensselaer COMSTOCK
3100 Valentine COMSTOCK b 1800 VT d Vernon NY 1870
3201 Israel COMSTOCK b 7 Jan 1799, Saratoga Springs, NY, d 6 Jan 1862 MI buried not far from VanRensselaer ( my ggggrandfather). Had descendants with VanRensselaer as a middle name.
3202 Betsey (Elizabeth) born Jan 1797 buried in Old Stillwate Baptist Ch. " Elizabeth dau of Mr Solomon and Elizabeth Comstock died 8 March 1813 age 16yrs.1 mo. 7 days.
I have not found Elizabeth (?) COMSTOCK in the census. Perhaps she remarried. Solomon remarried Mar 1806 in ME. I found VanRensselaer in the 1830 VT census and MI 1850. Could Elizabeth be Dutch? Valentine & VanRensselaer were 3 rd & 4 th in birth order. Anyone have any suggestions?
