I have self-published the book "A Survey of Deserted Settlements in Glen Lednock, Including Glentarken and Other Locations."

This is a revised and edited version of Elizabeth Colvin Bain’s unpublished manuscript of the many deserted settlements in Glen Lednock, located above the village of Comrie, Perthshire, Scotland.

The object of publishing this manuscript is for its genealogical importance to those families that originated in the noted glen or other noted settlements, crofts and villages within the Parish of Comrie. The settlements covered are Corrie, Balmuik, Lurg, Carroglen, Kingarth, Kingarthmore, Tighnacroy, Glaslarich, Balmenoch, Tighnasithe, Fintalich, Balnadalloch, Balnacoul, Croftwhannel, Crilechonnel, Croftchonnel, Coishevachan, Innergeldie, Daden, Glenmaik, Boicher, Sites near Lednock Dam, Bovaine, Keplandie, Bowalker.

Other Settlements and Locations included in the book are Wester and Easter Glentarken, Portmore (St. Fillans), Tullybannocher, and the following which deal mainly with Carmichael, Drummond, Comrie and McGregor families: Ardveich, Derry, Cochladow, Dundurn, Dunira, Meovie, Balna, Crappich, Garrichrew, Lechkin (Glasdale), Dalchonzie, Ardtrostan, Finaglen, Ross (The Ross), Comrie, Dalginross.

The book is 334 pages with settlement plans, births at those settlements, maps, marriages, deaths, Testaments (or Wills), Census returns of Glen Lednock and Glentarken, and selected genealogy, photographs, charts, maps, with research and source notes. In the selected genealogies there are many Carmichael, Comrie, Drummond and McGregor families.

If you have any questions about the cost, the contents of this book, contact me via email.
