Comrie Family Genealogy Forum

I am researching the Comrie background of my father's aunt, Janet Comrie Robertson, who was a grand-daughter of a Comrie. She was born in Auchterarder, Perthshire, in 1862, at Middle Third Farm (part of which is the present Gleneagles Resort Hotel and Golf Course). She emigrated with numerous brothers and sisters to the US at the turn of the century and I have ample genealogy material, including photographs going back to pre-1900, of the decendants.
Janet Comrie Robertson's mother was Elizabeth Drummond, born probably in the late 1830s in Perthshire. Elizabeth's father, James Drummond, married one Janet Comrie, I estimate, about 1825-1830, most likely in Perthshire. If the villages of Stirling, Crieff, Blackford, Auchterarder, Dunblane or even Comrie itself ring a bell, I would appreciate whatever information you can provide.
Also, I would like for any Scottish readers to tell me of the the Auchterarder-area farming estate known as Monkscroft, because it was once owned by some of these relatives. My grandfather spent a miserable, Dickensian winter there in 1885, orphaned after his dad, the squire of Middle Third, died in a farming accident (which ultimately triggered the family migration to Canada and the US).
In addition to ROBERTSON and DRUMMOND, there may be a connection with MCINNES, as one of Janet Comrie Robertson's brothers, James Robertson, apprenticed himself to the John C. McInnes department store, in Worcester, Mass, in the 1890s. MCinness was his cousin.
