Thank you.

From the information that you have provided me, the reason that your "genealogy is in pieces" is that there is information may be in those 60 Family Tree Maker files rather than in one file.

I am not sure what the next step should be. To clean this up, is NOT going to be easy and it will take some time.

So that I can help you with "what to do next", it would be helpful if you could tell me how you got so many files.

Did you start a new FILE (File, New) when you entered information about a new person or family?

Again, I am only trying to figure out how you created so many files.
