I think it impossible that Samuel Commander's wife was Elizabeth Screven, though it was definitely Elizabeth something.
Rev. William Screven did have a daughter named Elizabeth, but she married Robert Elliot of Charleston. The Elliot family were part of Rev. William Screven's congregation in Kittery Maine, and who came together to South Carolina to escape persecution because they were Baptists, and were not acceptable in Maine. Elizabeth was born in Kittery about 1693 and d. in Charleston about 1724.
Now - all of William Screven's children were born after his 1674 marriage to Bridget Cutts, showing that all of his children were about the same age or younger than Samuel Commander. Since he had only one daughter named Elizabeth, and her marriage to Robert Elliot is well documented in South Carolina records, I think that rules out this theory.
Rev. Screven's youngest son, born in 1698 in South Carolina, had a daughter named Elizabeth, who was too young to have married Samuel Commander and is well known to have married James Fowler, a merchant in both Charleston and Georgetown. There were other Screven sons, but none old enough to have produced a daughter old enough to have married Samuel. I don't have the names of all their children, though.
