Dear Phillip,
Thanks for the replies! I have only recently started on the family tree trail and have a more or less definite link to James Commander born March 31 1811 and married to Elizabeth Edgington. One of their children - Thomas -born 1843 who was married to Sarah Power was my great grandfather. My grandfather was Alfred Thomas born 1873 and my father was Phillip Stanley born 1912.
Have I got the same great grandfather as you? Or have I got the wrong James? I am basing my assumption on the fact that he had a son Thomas of the right age. Please let me know.
Also let me know how you are related as I have the family tree from my grandfather down but can't seem to find you on that so perhaps I have gone astray.
