Dear Nick: My father was very shy about talking of family in England. I ado know that he was one of 11 or 14 children. His name is Alec, no middle initial, Comley. He worked as a young man in the coal mines, and also on the canals, towing barges. I have only met one Comley who was definitely related to him. That person was a Hillary Comley, now of the United States. My father also was a distance runner, and I have medals of his accomplishments from a running club in the West Midlands. I am not aware of connections to shropshire, but a big family such as my fathers would no doubt haave moved to many areas of England. If your Grandmother could try and remember with the few details that I have supplied it would be greatly appreciated.
