Dear Sionan,
I believe that the derivation of the name Comley comes from the old Saxon Coelmund.
The name was changed variously to Coleman, Cholmondeley and Comley.
The crest of the branch of the family to which I have connections is a golden wheatsheaf on a red background.
Please contact me if I can be of any further assistance.
Cheers,
Nick Comley
