Thanks for your reply.
I have now found the 1891 Census for Joseph Comfort who seems to have been listed as Comport.

I can's find the 1901 Census for Joseph anywhere so would appreciate any details you mave be able to share with me.

As I said in my previous message I have Joseph in the 1911 Census still living at Lancaster Road, but now as a widower, age 72, with his son Edgar Eugene and his family.
Strangely he is listed as an Army Pensioner.

I have Joseph's parents (Benjamin and Elizabeth) in the 1851 and 1961 Census.
If you can tell me anything about his parents/grandparents I would be very grateful.
