I belong to the Comfort family of Ontario canada.WE have celebrated The Comfort family every year since1894. Last summer was the 113th reunion. It is held the 3rd sunday in July at 1200 noon and every one brings potluck. It is always held in the Niagara area july 2008 will be held at theWelland port hall. They have large thick books of the whole geneology and we made a positiveconnection back to England where they emmigrated from In Vineland Ontario(near St.Catharines is the 1st Mennonite cemetery were some of them are buried. The 1st ones are mostly all buried in Lane Cemetery on Hwy. 20. On the original Comfort homestead they planted a maple tree and it is over 500 yrs old. The Niagara conservation took it over and have it checked each year to help keep it in good condition. I decsend down from Nancy Johnson and Robert Comfort. My great grandmas name was Martha Comfort and she married Benjamin Martin and 1 of their children was my grandma Edith Martin and she married John Ecker the 3rd.They all lived in Clinton twp, Lincoln county near StCatharines and lake Ontario and above on the Niagara escarpment. One of John and Ediths children was Doris Ecker and she married Leo Joseph Doherty and they had 2 children Danny, and myself Patricia. The book also tells a lot of the early history and at the Jordan Museum they have other books abt the people.
