I have a 259 pg doc.(Comfort Families of America) that supports your theory. I don't know how much you want to know, but Richard, Robert, and Samuel came over on the America about 1690. I'm related to a James Comfort 1805-1885. My doc. goes back to 1066.
Geocities has some on the Comforts of Orange Co.NY.
