I have for many years been seeking information on the ancestry of JOHN COMFORT my GGGGrandfather
What I know is
JOHN COMFORT.
Born Jun 1800 in PENNSYLVANIA.
Died 29 Jan 1873 in Indiana Co. Pa. (Burrell Twp).
LIVING IN SHARPSBURG along the Allegheny River IN THE 1850 CENSUS
Living IN THE SAME HOUSE AS A WOMEN NAMED
ELIZABETH TYLER 92 YEARS OLD (B. 1758)
born in New Jersey - noted as cannot read or write
Death notice in INDIANA Messenger Jan 29, 1873
"of Burrell Twp of Consumption"
Age 72 years and 8 months
He married MARTHA.
Born 4 Jul 1801 in PENNSYLVANIA.
Died 28 Jan 1873 in INDIANA CO. PA. (BURRELL TWP).

DEATH NOTICE
"AGE 71 YEARS, 6 MONTHS AND 24 DAYS
They had the following children:
i. JOHN L. COMFORT
ii. LEAH COMFORT; Born 1828 in PENNSYLVANIA.
iii. LYDIA COMFORT; Born 1838 in PENNSYLVANIA.
Various family stories have them coming into Western Pennsylvania first settling in Cumberland and Bedford County. There is some indication they might have been Church of The Brethren. They seem to have ties to New Jersey and perhaps down state New York.
Any information greatly appreciated.
