Dobson states that Jane married as his second wife, Jacob Nellis on 25 Oct 1814. I was aware of that marriage and have more details on the Nellis family; not many, but more. I am interested in two things. One, why did John Comfort's family bop around so much? And two, are there stories about raids in their neighborhoods in NY during the revolution? The response to this question may hold the key to some of the migrations back and forth between Canada and the States.
Dobson's material also suggests that Nellis's daughter, Amilia, may have married Richard Van Horn. I believe this statement is errorous. The parents of another Amelia Nellis of the same age are buried in Van Hornsville Cemetery and I believe she is the one that married Van Horn.
