My gg grandfather was George Pryor Comport from Kent, he emigrated to Brisbane, Australia sometime around 1870 and his 2 daughters were born in Deptford but that is all I know at this stage. I am told his only son died in North Queensland around 1890, so to my knowledge the name has not lived on here in Australia.
Does anyone think there is a connection somewhere?
