This Richard would have been a little to young for the Rev. war. D.A.R. lineage goes back to James S. Comfort who was married to Mary Ann McKune. My g g g grandfather. The McKune family history has the Comfort history going back to Robert Comfort who was listed in the 1698 census at Robart Cumfort. his children being Robert, John and Benjamin. its all there. My Comfort family lived mostly in Harmony twnship, PA. Many of them are buried in the Lanesboro PA cemetary. They lived all through NY state. To get this info go to Rootsweb, McKune, you will find the Mary Ann McKune spouse James S. Comfort, click and you will find the entire history, spouses, children, dates. etc. Good Luck.
