I've hit a brick wall on Francoise Comeau (b. abt 1746), married to Claude Francois Lebeau (b. abt 1736, St-Anatole, Diocese de Besancon en Franche-Comte, France) son of Pierre Francois and Claire Boussard.
Francoise Comeau and Claude Lebeau's marriage was rehabilitated in St. Joseph de Chambly, Chambly 06 Jun 1768. They had two daughters (abt 3 yrs old), Claire and Therese, baptized just before the rehabilitation. Francoise was about 22 yrs at the time of the rehabilitation. This makes her about 18-19 yrs old at the time her and Claude had one of these daughters. Francoise, born about 1746 may have been from Acadia and was part of the deportations in 1755 but I can find no reference to her birth there. She may not have been born in Acadia. I also can not find any reference to Claude Lebeau in Acadia prior to 1755. Since it appears (from the need for rehabilitation) that Francoise and Claude were not originally married in the Catholic Church. That also seem to eliminate France as their original marriage(?). The next possibility is in the Colonies.
Has anyone came across Comeau's/Lebeau's in any of the original 13 Colonies? There are some early census (1765-ish) but I don't have access to them at this time as I live way south.
If anyone does have access an would be willing to look for Claude Francois Lebeau and/or Francoise Comeau it would be most appreciated.
