"Mar.29,1890: Mrs. SAMUEL COLVIN, daughter of Rev. John L. Stewart, died at her home in Crenshaw Co.AL; leaves husband and several children."

Then, in the following August,1890, I found this announcement posted:

"August 6, 1890: SAMUEL COLVIN married Miss Sarah F. JOHNSON last Sunday."

I assume he married again in less than 5 months after his wife died, is because of mostly necessity due to 'several children'.

The SAM COLVIN I am looking for is my paternal GG-Grandfather; father of Irvin)g) Ciscero COLVIN (G-GF) who is father of my GRANDfather, Charles Henry COLVIN, b.Sept. 1,1881 d.July 4, 1948.

I have really hit a brick wall here, and can trace my family no further until I 'find' SAM COLVIN.

Any help greatly appreciated!
