I am trying to identify the John Colvin who married Sarah Dillard The latter was born ca 1762 in Culpeper County, Virginia. (I am told that this couple had a daughter Priscilla Colvin, and that Priscilla married Armistead Hume.)
There was a John Colvin who died testate in Chester County, SC in 1793 (Chester County Probate Court, Package 145, File 9, Executrix Hannah Colvin,wife, and Executor William Colvin, son). This John Colvin names as his sons, presumably in order, as William, JOHN, Nicholas, Daniel, Edward, Thomas, and Talton.
Does any one know if the son JOHN was the husband of Sarah Dillard? He would be about the right age.
Colvin researchers on this forum have identified the wife of the decedant John Colvin as Hannah Price. Where does one find proof?
For completeness, the daughters named in John Colvin's 1793 will were Sarah, deceased wife of Benjamin Trustee, Rhoda, Mary, Charlotte, and Laviciy. John Colvin's estate paper give not a clue to the names of the husbands of his daughters--with the exception of Sarah.
