I am looking for any information on Emmitt J. Colvin. He was my grandfather and I can find very little information about that side of my family. He was born Dec 24, 1894 in Kokomo, Indiana and died June 1945. According to his birth certificate he was born to Mr. & Mrs. A.C. Colvin in Carroll Cty, Indiana. Father age 33, born in Virginia. Mother age 24, born in Warren Cty, IN, maiden name Hunt. He married Dora Winter on 27 March 1917. His siblings were Clifford, Frank, Merrell, June and Rosie. Children were Marjorie Joan Colvin Palmer, Ernest Francis (Frank) Colvin, and Thomas Irvin Colvin (my dad). From looking at the signatures in his Memorial Record from the Needham and Son Funeral Home in Marion, Indiana, there were two Colvins in attendance: Margaret and John Thomas. I think they were Uncle Frank's first wife and son. From the information in his obituary, it looks like most of his siblings no longer lived in Indiana.
It would be really great if someone at least knew my great-grandparents' names. At least then I could try to go back a bit further.
