"Traverse City Record Eagle" [Traverse City, Grand Traverse Co., MI], 21 Jul 1949: Wm. Colvin is Taken by Death William Thomas Colvin, 523 North Spruce street, local photographer, died early this morning at Munson hospital. Mr. Colvin was born November 16th 1887, in Wexford county and moved to this city when he was seven years old. In 1906 he located in Sparta. He was married to Miss Sadie Slack in 1908. Mr. Colvin received a life membership in the Buckley Masonic lodge June 9th 1949. Left to mourn their loss is a daughter, Mrs. Clair [Wilma] Caine; a son, Barton Colvin, both of Sparta; three grandchildren, Janice Colvin and Patricia and Michael Caine; a half brother, Marvin Colvin, all of Sparta. The body was taken to the Hibbard Chapel and later will be taken to Sparta where funeral services will be held and burial made. ___________________ Note: William Thomas Colvin was the son of Barton7 Colvin [Rosoloo6, Samuel5, Ephraim 4, Samuel3, Samuel2, John1] and Barton's second wife, Eliza.
