Is it possible the name was mispronounced or misspelled?

Squire Beghtol (Bechtol) married Martha Colvin 11 June, 1852, in Schuyler County, IL. He married Mary Teeples 2 October, 1862, in Schuyler County. I have no information on the first marriage other than the date.
