Today in the Albemarle County Courthouse I found a marriage license of a Jane Colvin and Alexander Herron from Oct. 21, 1812. Alexander Colvin was apparently the father of Jane (I descend from the marriage of Jane & Alexander Herron).

Would be interested in learning more about the Colvins.
