Thank you so very much for your reply to my query. I am still seeking info on William F. Colvin and Lucy Mildred Hawley should you come across it.

I descend from the Colvins also and joined the DAR on my Colvin ancestor. I don't have research as far forward as your Nancy. I am sorry.

Three Colvin brothers are found in the War abstracts at the National Archives in Washington, D.C. They are John, Mason and Harry Colvin. I descend from John Colvin who m. Sarah Dillard on October 7, 1778 in Culpeper Co., Va. John and Sarah Dillard Colvins children were Priscilla Major Colvin b. July 16, 1780, James Robert Colvin b. June 14, 1784, John Dillard Colvin b. September 29, 1800. Possibly you descend from one of these sons? They lived in Culpeper and Orange Cos.,Va. Culpeper was taken from Orange Co., Va. The information on Colvins can be found in my book Hawley, Halley, Holley at www.heritagebooks.com. Best of luck to you! We may be related! Laura Hawley
