Don't have anything but here are some clues, maybe. The Jacob chart listed below has a William A. Colvin born about 1833. Jacob had a brother named John Charner Colvin who would have been William A.s uncle. So the name may have come down to his son. I have about six Charner Colvins but none are the right dates. Anyway, maybe this will help.
