There is a wonderful book from the Libraby of Congress written about the Colvin family from Al. It starts about1750 with John Colvin. It is quite a long book with a wonderful photo and a great break down of the lineage. I borrowed from my local library for $1 to pay for the postage. It may be what you are looking for. Good luck!
