John Colvin was really Jean Chauvin

I'm trying to find information about John
Colvin whose real family name was Jean
Chauvin. John married Hannah Hall b. 9-27-1826 in Caernarvon, Wales. Hannah was the
d/o Isaac Hall b. 1804, England m. Cahterine
Price b. Liverpool, Eng. Would imagine that
John/Jean was b. @ 1820's. Name sounds like
it's French instead of English or Welsh.
Any help appreciated.
