Hi Patrica,
My Harris line also settled in Blount Tennessee on Crooked Creek after the Revolution. They were Scots Irish that emigrated about 1730 and landed in Pennsylvania. There were several sons and one stayed in the Lancaster area of PA and one in Cecil, Maryland and the others migrated down to Mecklenburg, North Carolina and John Harris, the oldest brother and my line settled in South Carolina.I believe at the time it was Anson County, North Carolina in the area that later became South Carolina once the states' boundaries were settled. The Harrises traveled with the Pickens, McCalls, and Calhouns among others that show up in the Waxhaws area which is very close to the Bullocks Creek area in SC where many Blacks and Wilsons settled. These lines including the Blacks also show up in the Abbeville area.Would love to correspond further. My e-mail is [email protected] or I can reply here.
Thanks,
Terese Mitchell
