James was born in Torryburn, Fife, Scotland, his Parents appear to have been Father one James Colvile and Mother
Helen Thomson. He spent a good portion of his lief as a Seaman on the good ship Bulwark until 1817 when he was discharged because of wounds, married and lived in Montrose, Angus (Forfar), Scotland. James died on 28 February, however, I cannot find a burial site or date wheather in Montrose, or Edzel which was near by where his wife moved to after his death. Any help here would be most helpful.
