I've just posted a revision of the Coltharp gedcom at Rootsweb that contains some additions and changes to the SC>MS branch. Some of the SC additions (2nd husband for Sally Coltharp d/o Henry) are pretty well substantiated, but we're still working through the parents of the MS Coltharps, John Campbell and Matthew Newton. I do, think, however, that there is now evidence that they were indeed the sons of James H. Coltharp, son of Henry and Edy Harris. It's their mother who is presenting the problems! However, we've narrowed her down to a couple of possibilties--and most of us now think her maiden name was Miller. The other possibility was Simmons, but recent marriage records from GA indicate John Campbell's first wife was Mary Simmons Teter--and I don't think he could have married his aunt! Just his cousin. :)
By "we"--a number of people are working on the SC branch--perhaps most instrumental in getting and interpreting material are Bev Peoples and John Blythe, but a number of others active as well: Louise Pettus, Ed Kimbrell, Bev Rodgers--and in Mississippi, working hard (!!!) Susan Coker and Dottie Coltharp. Amazing what can be found with so many active minds!
