James Colquitt is shown as a member of the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church in Oglethorpe County, Ga. in 1802,and being dismissed by letter. He is again shown as a member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church from 1823 to 1828, and being Church Clerk. From 1809 to 1820 he is shown as a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, and Church Clerk. In 1828 James Colquitt returns back to Bethany Baptist Church by letter. In 1833 James Colquitt is listed as Church Clerk at Bethany Baptist Church, and in 1836 he is listed as being deceased before May 21st, 1836. This is taken from Church Minutes, and History of Bethany Baptist Church, written by Jack McVeigh, 2008. Also microfilm from Tarver Library, Mercer University, Macon, Ga., on Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church.
