Although most researchers have Achilles Booker Colquitt as being the son of John T. Colquitt, I believe he is the son of Walter Evans Colquitt, who left will in Halifax County, Va. Walter Evans Colquitt married Catherine Wooding in Halifax, Co. Va., 3/3/1803. His will states he has children, but are not named. The 1880 census has A. B. C. Colquitt living with his daughter, M. J. Sherrard, and her husband, Nathan Sherrard in Jackson County, Louisiana. This census has him being 76 years old and born in Va. Achilles Colquitt and Samuel Crank owned land together in Talbot County, Georgia. Samuel Crank married Christian Colquitt in Halifax Co.,Va. Samuel and Christian T. Crank are in the 1850 Arkansas census with a Susannah Colquett. Achilles, Christian T. and Susannah Colquitt could be the children not named in Walter Evans Colquitt's will. John T. Colquitt was living in Oglethorpe County, Georgia in 1804-1805.
