I have a copy of an article written by O.B. Colquitt, former Governor of Texas. He states that his parents were Thomas Jefferson Colquitt and Ann Eliza Burkhalter, who were married at Buena Vista, Marion County, GA, April 14, 1853. Children of this union were: Eulalia Colquitt, b. 1854, d. 1931; Ida Colquitt, b. 1856, died in infancy; David Thomas Colquitt, b. 1859; Oscar Branch Colquitt, b. 1861; William Fletcher colquitt, b. 1864, d. 1929; John Milton Colquitt, b. 1866; Pierce Colquitt, b. 1871.
Oscar Branch ("O.B.") Colquitt was born in Camilla, Mitchell County, GA, and moved to Texas with his parents in 1878. He married Alice Fuller Murrell of Minden, La., and had 5 children: Rawlins Murrell Colquitt, b. 1887; Sidney Burkhalter Colquitt, b. 1888; Oscar Branch Colquitt, Jr., b. 1890; Mary Alice Colquitt, b. 1894; Walter Fuller Colquitt, b. 1896, d. 1910.
