Dora Cordelia Collinsworth Atkinson
Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Cordelia Collinsworth Atkinson, 94, were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, June 4, 2000, at Rose-Neath Minden Chapel with the Rev. Bill Ichter officiating. Burial was held in Bistineau Cemetery in Heflin. She died Thursday, June 1 in Coushatta.
Mrs. Atkinson was born in Heflin and resided in Webster Parish most of her life. She was a legal secretary for Dan Stewart Jr. She was a member of the second graduating class of Heflin High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Minden.
Mrs. Atkinson was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Atkinson; five sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include five nieces, Jean Watson of Minden, Bobbye Culverhouse of Sibley, Dorothy Campbell of Minden, Grace Long of Coushatta and Katherine Lester Smith of Ruston; four nephews, David Stewart of League City, Texas, Walter Collinsworth of Buhl, Idaho, Neal Conley of Baton Rouge and Billy Pate of Heflin; and a host of great-nephews and great-nieces.
Great-nephews served as pallbearers.
Visitation began at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 4 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden.
