My sister Judy Collinsworth (spelled with a "g", but originally without) Laird age 51 died unexpectedly in West Monroe, Louisiana after a brief illness.
She is the gg grand-daughter of the late Nathan W. Collinsworth of Georgia.
She was a wonderful wife, mom, sister, and friend and is greatly missed. Here is the obituary:
Judy Collingsworth Laird
Judith Elaine Laird 131 Lomaland, West Monroe died at The Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe, Louisiana, on June 19 at 2:50 pm. Mrs. Laird, 51 years of age, was born October 2, 1948 in Monroe, Louisiana. She was a native of Downsville, a 1966 graduate of Downsville High, and attended The University of Louisiana/Monroe. She was a member of First Baptist Church/West Monroe.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 21 at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of West Monroe. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in West Monroe. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Cemetery, Downsville.
Judy was preceded in death by two sons, Marcus A., and Michael S. Laird; and by parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Burgas (Justine) Collingsworth.She is survived by her husband, Roger Laird, and son Jared Laird of West Monroe and La. Tech; two sisters, JoAnn Bosworth and husband, Joe of Houma, La., and Jean Cole and husband, Ronnie of Ruston; one brother, The Reverend J.B. Collingsworth, and wife Anne Leavell "Shugie" Collingsworth of Orlando, Florida.

Along with family, a host of friends mourn her loss but join with her immediate family in rejoicing that she is with Her Heavenly Father because of her relationship with Jesus Christ. "To be absent in the body is to be present with Christ."
