Hi Matt, Thanks for the link to Crumpton's website. He has done some major work to plot these old plats and compile the old land records. As for Cornelius Collins (Lieutenant, American Revolution), there is only brief information so far. I have him as a "suspect" as my gt-gt-gt-gt grandfather. My quadruple great grandmother was Bridget Collins who first appears in 1798 in Sunbury (Liberty County) Georgia, who was a widow of a Revolutionary War soldier -- but no mention of her husband's name. Cornelius died in 1791 in Sunbury. I am sifting the Georgia State Archives for any bit of information that would connect the two. Which is why I would be interested in finding a descendant of his brother John Collins of Columbia County, GA, for the DNA project. As for the DNA project, AncestryDNA has finally unveiled their new website and their Collins surname group page has some features that are quite useful. I've been working with several participants over the past year. I plan to start seeking more participants very soon. Notify Administrator about this message?
