On the 1880 census roll of Erath County, TX, Rebecca Collins is listed as head of a household that contains sons William M. and Newton Collins. In the next household is James Collins, his wife Sarah, and their children: Martha M., Charles, Dorah, Mary, Frances, and Lula A. Collins. James is another son of Rebecca, whom I think is Rebecca Satterwhite, widow of John G. Collins. If so, I found the family listed on the 1860 census in Harrison County, TX. I have been unable to locate them on the 1870 census, so if this family figures in your research, and you know where they were at that time, please contact me. I would also appreciate any other information about this family, especially the son named Newton. Could he possibly be the Isaac Newton Collins who married Jemimah Emmaline Butts in Taylor County, TX, in 1885?
