Thanks Jason. I only have fairly sketchy info at this stage, although I plan to go to Durham in the summer to dig around the archives. The only Edward I have come across so far was born in the 1650s and is (probably - not checked yet!) Sir Cuthbert's Great Great Grandson - as follows:

1 Sir Cuthbert Collingwood (d. c. 1600)
+ Dorothy Bowes

2 Cuthbert Collingwood (d. bef 1628)
+ Eleanor Roddam

3 Ralph Collingwood (d. bef 1648)
+ Dorothy Wright

4 Cuthbert Collingwood (d. 1686/87)
+ Elizabeth

5 Edward Collingwood (b. abt 1659)

I have nothing on this Edward beyond that. The Collingwood line I'm researching is thoroughly entrenched in Durham until the early 19th C, so I've not investigated the Rutland line - although I don't live far from Rutland, so if there's any checking I can do for you let me know.

I'd love to have your info on Sir Cuthbert's ancestry. KS
