Bud,

I, too, am a descendant of Catherine Collings but through her second husband Elijah Bess. By chance do you know her exact birth date? or where she is buried? There is a small cemetery near Retreat where she died but it is all grown over and hasn't been in use for decades. There was a suggestion that she was there but I can't find any record or stone.

Had you heard that Thomas Hubanks initiated the divorce proceedings. Legend has it that she was a redheaded lady with a fierce temper and a sharp tongue. From which of her children with Thomas do you descend?

And what is this book you are talking about? Sorry, but I just found the postings today.
