Dear Lynn!
I found your message at genforum.genealogy.com. My name is Alexandra Koelling and i live in Northern Germany. My surname is also based on the name Collinge (the original version of this name was "tho Collinge"). I am not sure whether your family name is linked to mine (could also be coincidence!?), but i have got a very interesting book which shows up my family tree back to the 13th century (starting off with "Gottschalk tho Collinge" in 1237).
There's still many Koellings and Koellns (this name is also based on the name Koelling/tho Collinge) living in Schleswig-Holstein/Germany.
If you are interested in further information about my roots, I will try to translate the history (described in that book i mentioned earlier on) into english!
I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Kind regards
Alexandra
